Dear AEEE Member:

On behalf of the AEEE Board of Directors, the 2010 Awards and Scholarships Committee is requesting applications for the following scholarships:

• The Doris Chandler Memorial Scholarship for Student Support Services Program participants;
• The Maritza Lopez Memorial Scholarship for Talent Search Program participants;
• The Leroy Wilson, III Memorial Scholarship for Upward Bound Program participants;
• The Ronald E. McNair Post-baccalaureate Achievement Scholarship for McNair Program participants.

Active members of AEEE must nominate scholarship applicants.   Each scholarship recipient will receive a $1,000 award at the 2010 AEEE Annual Conference Awards Banquet on: Wednesday May 5, 2010 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. The AEEE board will cover one night lodging expenses for the student recipients in attendance at the Awards Banquet. All travel arrangements must be made and covered by the recipient’s project.

The criteria for selection include, but is not limited to, SAT scores, Grade Point Average, two (2) letters of recommendation s and essay content.  Each category will be scored using a point system.  The Committee as a whole assures full and complete consideration for the award in the review of each application. You may mail or e-mail your application no later than Friday, March 26th, 2010.
